Imagine you were on a plane, walking down the isle trying to figure out where your seat is then your brother says to you, “I wonder if it’s safer to sit in the front of the plane or in the front?” In a way, if you were white, people would just ignore it. But being of a colored race such as Arabic, you’d get eyebrows risen and maybe some vulgar whispers about you.
That was almost the case with the Irfan’s, a Muslim family of two brothers, their wives, a sister and their 3 children. Except they were booted off the plane, interrogated by FBI and made some other 90 something passenger have to get off the plane along with their luggage to be rescreened. Right about now, I’m thinking of a word 8 letters long and begins with a “P”. If you’re thinking “paranoia” then you win!!! I’m not sure what you win but you win.
I guess someone heard the words “safest” and “plane” and put it together. Muslims on a plane asking where’s it safer… plane… TERRORISTS!!!
It’s a sad thought to see a family with children and suspect terrorism.
In an overview though, the brothers did say that the FBI acted professional in doing their job. Maybe that’s because one of the brothers was an attorney. They don’t want money from the incident, all they want is an apology from the airline, AirTran.
Pardon’s have not been made and the worst thing yet, they weren’t allowed to fly via AirTran. They had to book on another flight.

This is America for you under Bush policy. Pilot/Flight Attendant/TSA given too much power and now they act like they above the law. If you said something negative or they don't like your color of your skin, you get reported or kick off the plane. I hope the Muslim family take the Air Tran and everyone to court. Aploogy is not accepted! Sue them for every dime. I will never fly Air Tran with this kind of atitude.
Bottom line is that America is at war with a small portion of the Islamic faith, the far right. It is unfortunate when mistakes are made, but these do not occur often and are far smaller price to pay then what occurred on 9/11. Now, the same America which you dismiss as Bush's is also one in which gives this Muslim family the right to seek legal recourse (not sure what this would do other than make our country less protected and line the pockets of lawyers and this family).
Back during wwII,Japanese were put into intern camps for goodness sake. Although is not something I would suggest for Muslims now (or for that matter back during WWII), I believe the collective good of our country improved and Japanese Americans seem to have moved on and prospered. What will cost America the war on terror is trying to fight an immoral enemy with political correctness. They saw off our heads, we worry about giving them lawyers in Gitmo.
I am sorry that this family was singled out incorrectly, but am willing to accept (and so should they) that because of the acts of a few, the larger Muslim population in the US may have to deal with some annoyances until this mess finds rest.
Wake up, people. This is wartime for us, or have you not noticed? Every day...I mean EVERY day, Muslims - not Catholics, Prostestants, Hindus, Sikhs, Shintos, or atheists - strap on explosives and blow up women, children, old men and others without discrimination and hope for as many killed as possible, "God willing", as they say. If you were flying on a plane with a bunch of Muslims making suspicious remarks, would you REALLY want to board with your family? If you have any sense of good judgment, you would NOT. This is not about being politically correct, or crusading for social causes...this is about using common sense. These people, rightfully kicked off this flight, are guilty of bad judgement during wartime and seem oblivious that while their religious brothers and sisters are blowing up people every day under the guise of Islam, their can act indignant about their own acts of ignorance. What amazes me is that that we have so many bleeding hearts who are blind to the blood that runs through the fingers of so many Muslim terrroists.
