Mexico vs USA: The unannounced war

mexicantroop-warondrugsDoesn’t it seem that everyday on every news channel that has any form of alphabetical letters and numbers, you see the “War against drugs” or something of that nature is becoming more of a brain wash? Well I’m not exactly on the front lines and I don’t exactly live next to the border. But I do have friends on the other side (Mexico) and I do live 43 miles East from the US/Mexican border. So I guess you can say that I’m not really affected, but am I?

Everyday I see my former classmates dug deeper into the world of drugs, I am affected. Whenever I do travel the border town of Eagle Pass, Texas, I fear for my life and the life of those around me, I am affected. Every time I cross the border that fear intensifies, I am affected.

But besides that pointless point, I just had an epiphany. I think I’ve been brainwashed. A war isn’t a war until people die for what they believe in and to protect those beliefs. US Border Protection agents, formally known as Border Patrol agents, are dying not for a cause but for a job. They are dying for a country that has neglected its own borders. Innocent families on both sides are dying and losing loved ones for money, one way or another (Guy gets paid to kill someone or someone dies because of a hit, either way money is involved.) This isn’t a war, this is just a stupid act for both sides.

People die and newscasters jump off  their wives and show it like it was a movie, fiction, not reality. They question what happened when everyone knows what happened. They act like they themselves don’t know. “Why is this war going on?” “What can be done?” “How many people died?” “Why America?” We all know those answers: Drugs, shut down the borders, alot, America is a drug nation. Simple, but people like Anderson Cooper have to make an hour show out of it.

Look at your country, Mexico or America. Who’s really winning this “war”? No one, because this isn’t a war, this a product demand. America doesn’t get taxes from the drugs so they try to stop the drugs. They try to stop it and money for suppliers get bottlenecked. It becomes bottlenecked and they use guns to open gates for the supply. This is what America is about, supply and demand. Mexico is incapable of stopping this as well… it is inevitable.
